Life memberships awarded

Bill and Carole Barry were both awarded life membership of the Probus Club of Carlingford North Rocks.

Bill Barry

Bill was a foundation member of the Probus Club of Carlingford North Rocks when it was established in March 2005.

As a member of the Rotary Club of Carlingford, Bill initiated the concept of the establishment of what the club is today. He tirelessly canvassed ex-members from Rotary and the community to establish an interest group meeting. 

In the club’s second year Bill became its president and his great drive, humour, and enthusiasm saw the club rapidly increase in size.

He completed three years on the committee when he was immediate past president in 2007/8.

Bill has continued to promote the philosophy of Probus as fun, fellowship and intellectual stimulus.

Thanks to Bill for his outstanding leadership in the creation of the club. He is a wonderful example of what Probus all is about.

Carole Barry

Carole is also a foundation member of the Probus Club of Carlingford North Rocks since its establishment in March 2005.

Carole has provided unstinting behind the scenes support to her husband Bill in his endeavours to establish our club.

Carole was elected foundation membership officer. She performed this duty with great zest and accuracy during this time. In the second year she continued as membership officer and added the role of welfare officer.

In addition she has been a great supporter of Local Theatre Group, book exchange program and has been an active and enthusiastic participant in many of the Club activities.

Thanks to both Bill and Carole for their efforts in the creation of what is now a vibrant club of 170 members.
