Croquet, okay!

The predicted rain and storms held off for the Broadbeach Ladies’ Probus Club. Their planned outing for the month was to learn to play a game of croquet at the local Broadbeach Croquet Club.

The ladies learned that the object of the game is to hit ball(s) through the course of six hoops in the right sequence in each direction and finish by hitting them against the centre peg. The side, which completes the course first with both balls, wins. The game was first played in 1856 and has become very popular in current times.

Members of the croquet club were on hand to show the ladies how the game was played. The Probus ladies put everything into it and looked like pros by the end of the morning.

The croquet club put on a delicious morning tea during which new friendships were made. Lunch afterwards was at the adjacent bowling club.
