Rolleston Central Probus tour a private garden

Rolleston Central Probus Club recently visited “The Rusty Acre”, a private garden north of Christchurch.
Established from a bare paddock in 1993, this garden has become an outdoor gallery to the most incredible collection of steel sculptures with over 70 scattered throughout this two-acre garden.
It is owned by Allan and his partner Andrea. Allan is a prolific sculptor, and his many whimsical and humorous exhibits are dotted around the lush two-acre garden with a picnic area and a tranquil pond.
Andrea has a well-stocked gift shop with local crafts and imported treasures.
As it was a cold spring day, a hot lunch was welcomed afterwards at a restaurant just up the road.
Overall, the outing was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
