Currimundi learns about the White Mouse

Members and guests of the Currimundi Combined Probus Club in Queensland recently learned about Nancy Wake, the White Mouse, and her work as a prominent figure in the French Resistance during WWII.

The nearly 100-strong crowd listened as Ann Denning spoke of her personal friend, whom she had met in London. Denning revealed some of Wake's dangerous wartime exploits and said she is credited with saving more than 1000 allied soldiers and airmen from capture.

Several books and a movie are available on the life of Wake.

Currimundi members look forward to next month's meeting with local historian Ann Wensley.
