Enjoying the gardens
26 Jun 2014
Forty six members and friends from the Latrobe Ladies Probus Club enjoyed a wonderful autumn day at the Botanical Gardens in Melbourne.
Thanks to a community grant from Stockland, the club was able to offset the cost of the Latrobe Valley coach.
The group was blessed with absolutely perfect weather and had plenty of time to explore every corner of the gardens, including the walk up to the recently rebuilt area of the Guilfoyle Volcano, and fraternise over lunch.
It was an ideal time for a leisurely walk to admire the autumn colours, explore the paths and sustainable measures being used, and visit little huts of many styles to rest in along the way.
Some members of the club took advantage of a leisurely half-hour punt around the central lake after lunch, and were very pleased to be informed about the gardens and its history, by the punter, as he propelled the punt with his pole into many corners of the lake.
All in all, members enjoyed a very relaxing day.
