Kiama Mens’ Probus Club Choir

Kiama Mens’ Probus Club has a choir comprising of some 45 members. The choir has been in existence for more than twenty years and it is an integral part of our club’s activities. The emphasis of the choir is to bring the joy of music to as many people as possible.
The choir’s primary audiences comprise the people who live in retirement villages between Wollongong and Nowra. The choir rehearses every Monday and usually performs once a week on average. The choir sings a wide range of songs. There are three programs of different songs spread across the year and the performances are well received by all audiences.
All choir members thoroughly enjoy participating in the choir’s activities and all members appreciate the positive vibes that result from singing to, and interacting with, a wide range of audiences. It is truly wonderful to watch audience members joining in with their songs in their own special ways.
An interesting trivia aspect of the Kiama Mens'choir is that the average age of members is 80 years, and if they all take part in a performance the total of their ages is in excess of 3,200 years!! That said, they don’t even consider age when it comes to the choir. They just thoroughly enjoy singing and bringing enjoyment to others in their community. Music keeps you young!
