The Fraser Coast-Hervey Bay Combined Probus Club revisited the joys of childhood with a presentation from local children’s author, Chris Collin at a recent meeting.
Chis brought his book Funky Chicken along with puppets, songs and a CD and had members engrossed with an interacting and engaging Australian bush story.
As a highlight a puppet character from the story, Poss, gave a special cuddle to our first life member, Mary Mudge, inducted on the same day.
Funky Chicken evolved from a dad on a school camp, helping to write a skit, and is now in schools, libraries and bookshops across Australia.
It makes us proud of our Hervey Bay talent - and proud of Mary for her ten years of volunteering, leadership and serving on committees.
