Buninyong Probus Club member receives life membership

At the March 2016 AGM, members of the club were delighted to confer Life Membership upon John Emery.

In March 2004, John, a past president of the Wendouree Rotary Club, had the vision and was instrumental in the establishment of the club. With his vision, hard work and enthusiasm John gathered a group of about 60 people at a meeting, which he chaired, and at which the Provisional Probus Club of Buninyong was formed. At that meeting a Committee of Management, of which John was a member, was formed. John’s contribution, particularly in those early days, was never ending. He supported each committee member, who gradually formed the nucleus and foundation of the club. The ‘spirit’ of Probus - friendship, fellowship and fun – was forefront in John’s mind and his enduring legacy to the club. John served as Vice President in 2005, President in 2006 and Immediate Past President in 2007.
John is the first and, to date, only life member of the Buninyong Probus Club. In celebrating John’s role in founding the Buninyong Probus Club, its members rejoice with him in acknowledging that the club remains an exceptional group of people, very grateful to our founding member John Emery.
