30th birthday for Nunawading

The Probus Club of Nunawading celebrated its 30th birthday recently, at the iconic Alfred's Homestead in Warrandyte.

Noel Webster (deceased) was our first member, first president and first life member inducted on 20/04/1983 followed closely by current members Max Ballintine, Brian Shimmen, Roy Lew Ton and life member Frank Wells.

Special guests included widows of former past members and our original sponsoring Rotary club, Rotary Club of Nunawading was represented by current President Harvey Lane. It was great to see many of our past presidents were able to attend and thoroughly enjoy themselves.

The Alfred's staff were attentive and efficient and made sure the large group enjoyed a magnificent and varied buffet lunch, which meant the chefs among us should have been released from dinner duty that night.

To conclude the day Christine Summers presented a beautifully decorated and delicious anniversay cake, which was cut by Jean Webster and Max Ballintine our current longest serving member.
