Bamboo Land

Fraser Coast-Hervey Bay Combined travelled to Bamboo Land for their first Wine Down for 2019. 

Bamboo Land is situated on the highway between Maryborough and Childers. It is set on 10 acres adjoining the Burrum River. It is a beautiful tropical garden with walkways through the whole site. There are many varieties of bamboo, including Ghost, China Gold and Black. Among the plants featured are coloured Heliconias, Red Cigar Ginger and Foxtail Palms to name but a few. Wood sculptures of animals abound along the walkways.

The kiosk has bamboo products for sale, including bamboo toothbrushes. The members enjoyed cheese platters and wine tasting.
