Applications can be a wonderful way to keep track of your finances, saving you money along the way.
PocketMoney
An exceptionally easy app to use, PocketMoney helps track your finances on multiple devices including iPhones, iPads, Androids and desktops.
The app tracks your cash flow and allows you to input your net worth. Combining the two of these together means you can improve the health of your finances.
It’s a simple system. Start by inputting your income and known monthly expenses. As transactions pop up, you can add them into the application. These can be inputted into a number of accounts including credit card, savings, assets and more.
You can then analyse the health of your finances through the in-built reporting features including charts and targets, which can be exported to desktop applications such as Excel.

XpenseTracker
XpenseTracker helps keep a record of all of your day-to-day expenses so you can keep up to date with your spending habits.
It also separates your expenses according to date, category, whether the payment has been cleared or by client so you know where your money has gone every week.
Easy to use reporting allows you to email reports directly to your computer and the file will immediately appear on your desktop. You can also include photos of any relevant receipts in the application.

BillTracker
Let’s face it, it can be tricky to remember when your bills need to be paid. With electicity, water, phone, car and credit cards to remember to pay off, it’s hard to keep track.
BillTracker keeps a calendar of all the bills that need to be paid so you’ll never miss a payment date.
Input the details of your relevant bills including due date and amount and BillTracker will add it into the calendar. You can also set up recurring bills if you know to expect it every fortnight or every month.
Cost: $1.99
There is a Lite version as well however it does not support back up through iCloud or exporting the data into Numbers or Excel.
My Stocks 2
My Stocks 2 helps to demystify the value of your stocks. It’s a stock market tracking application for Australian, New Zealand, US, London, German, Indian and Hong Kong stock exchanges where you can input the initial cost and number of shares that you have, including fees. This allows you to view the value of your stocks including profits and losses.
My Stocks 2 also gives you the ability to organise your stocks into different portfolios, and give each portfolio a personalised name and specific currency.

ATM Hunter
ATM Hunter locates any ATM around the world simply by entering an address. It also shows you whether certain merchants accept PayPassTM.
You can tailor your search depending on the information you’d like including whether an ATM is a stand-alone or attached to a bank branch.
Don’t know how to get to the ATM? The app gives you the exact distance between your location and where the machine is and a map to help you get there.

Of course, most banks also have personalised applications such as CommBank, ANZ GoMoney, NAB and St. George.
There is also a handy PayPal application so you can access and spend your money securely from anywhere.
