Musical Explorations with the Rolleston Probus Club

The Rolleston Probus Club enjoyed their October outing last year to "At Violinos," a music farm near Ashburton owned by renowned musician Ruth Hall. Ruth, who warmly welcomed the group, demonstrated the power of music-making with everyday objects, transforming PVC pipes, a tea chest strung with odds and ends, and even bottle tops into instruments. The afternoon included a delightful concert featuring Hall on violin and Allan on cello.
The club members even had a go at forming their own band, with good-natured agreement that they might need some more practice before a public performance. A delicious lunch provided by the ladies from Age Concern completed the enjoyable outing.
