A crystal anniversary

The Probus Club of Gordon Park celebrated its 15th anniversary on the same day that the Queen commemorated her Diamond Jubilee.
A less lavish event, the highlight of Gordon Park’s celebration was a ceremonial cutting-of-the-cake by inaugural president Michael Byrnes OAM during the June meeting.
A more substantial affair was arranged to coincide with the club's annual Christmas in July function.
This year 70 members and friends cruised Sydney Harbour, feasting on turkey, ham and the traditional Christmas pudding.
The alleged sighting of an iceberg by one over-excited out-of-towner proved to be a rumour.
It was just the sails of the Opera House gleaming in the mid-winter sun! No members were lost overboard and everyone had a great time.
