Xmas in July Musical Afternoon Tea Party

Victor Harbor/Granite Island Probus Club celebrated a Musical Christmas in July which was a great success with 42 members attending. The afternoon took place at Victor Harbor Men’s Shed. The group was entertained by band ‘Blackwater Bubble’ playing memorable hits from the 1960s and 1970s. Club member, Carl is the band’s rhythm guitarist, while Kevin is vocalist/bass guitarist, Trevor is lead guitarist and Don Steer is the group’s drummer.

The dance floor ‘rocked’ as club members took their turn on the dance floor to bop and jive. During the band’s performance, club member Jan received resounding applause after singing some of her much-loved, and moving, country music songs.

Club members donated wrapped gifts to be offered as door prizes and dance prizes. And midway through the afternoon the band members took a short break while tea and coffee, and a selection of platters of delightful goodies were served. From the moment Blackwater Bubble commenced its repertoire of musical items, club members were dancing, singing, and laughing … and having a wonderful time. This fit perfectly with the Probus purpose, to enjoy … Fun, Friendship and Fellowship in Retirement.
