From ruby-themed parties to classy champagne brunches, Probians all over Australia are celebrating Probus’ wonderful 40th anniversary. What are your Probus party plans this year?

Albury, NSW - In honour of Probus’ 40th anniversary, the lovely members of the Albury Probus Club all dressed in ruby red at one of their meetings. Here are Dorothy McFarland, Roma Richards and Jacqueline Digby on the day, looking especially festive.

Lara, Vic - At the Combined Probus Club of Lara’s celebrations, the members also dressed in red and enjoyed a delicious chocolate mud cake with juicy strawberries.

On the same day as the celebrations, Probian Lorraine Sneddon was inducted into the club. The club has 100 fabulous members who all enjoy each other’s company with an exciting variety of regular outings and themed meetings.

Maryborough, Vic - Maryborough Probus Club’s meeting earlier this year was certainly a colourful one. There was also a morning tea and impressive anniversary cake which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Here is President Rosalie Fitzmaurice cutting the cake with the club’s eldest member, Cliff Jacobs and fellow Probian, Ralph Edwards, who has been a member for 31 years.

Buderim Mountain, Qld - What better way to spend an afternoon than tucking into bottles of Champagne, a scrumptious chicken brunch and birthday cake with good friends? In February this year, the Probus Club of Buderim Mountain held a fantastic party under the weeping figs in Wirreanda Park. A great time was had by all.  As Probus club member Judi Nommensen says, “It was a happy occasion with time to mingle with new and not-so-new members, reflecting on Probus’ many contributions to our wellbeing individually and as a community.”

NOWRA, NSW - The Probus Club of Nowra combined their 40th celebrations with a sports day, which included several rounds of golf, bowls, bocce and quoits. It was followed by a picnic and cake.

Riverside and Devonport, Tas  - The Riverside and Devonport Ladies Probus Clubs had a great lunch together at Villaret Gardens Restaurant. More than 60 Probians enjoyed fun and friendship on the day.

Medowie, NSW - The lovely members of the Combined Probus Club of Medowie shared a mouth-watering chicken and ham salad lunch with delectable desserts during their Probus 40th party.

Norwood, SA - The Norwood Ladies Probus Club’s marvellous anniversary lunch was held at the Robin Hood Hotel in May this year. Here, Cath Hensel is sharing the wonderful history of the club.

Sanctuary Cove, Qld - The Probus Club of Sanctuary Cove paid tribute to Probus at their AGM, where outgoing President Gerry Bailey congratulated President Ed Riley on his new role.

Wingham, NSW - This year is the Probus Club of Wingham’s 20th birthday, which they celebrated in conjunction with Probus’ birthday at Killabakh Country Hall. A Devonshire morning tea was served and members watched a DVD showing some of the events that the club has held over the years.

Brisbane, Qld - These Probians are from seven clubs in the western district of Brisbane. They’re organising their joint 40th party in September.

SORRENTO, Vic - These long-standing members of Sorrento Probus Club, Laurel and Pat, are cutting a special Probus anniversary cake.

Woolgoolga, NSW - This is a snapshot of the Woolgoolga Ladies Probus Club at a meeting, where they displayed the special anniversary issue of Active Retirees.
