Albury trip
11 Dec 2013
Twenty-six members of the South Morang Probus Club travelled from Melbourne to Albury by train.
Members were picked up from the station by bus and taken to the Tallangatta Motor Inn. The next day, after a hot breakfast, the bus travelled through the beautiful Kiewa Valley, stopping at Tawonga for our snow boots.
Bogong Villiage was next where morning tea was served.
Back on the bus for 15 kilometres until we reached the gates of Falls Creek. There was thick snow everywhere. We took the chairlift to the top of the mountain, then strolled to Cafe Max for a lovely lunch.
After lunch, our snowmobiles showed us the beautiful Falls Creek Village before we hopped back onto the bus, stopping at Mount Beauty Bakery for afternoon tea.
Dinner was a traditional four-course Christmas feast with all the trimmings, as well as Father Christmas, who arrived with presents for everyone.
After breakfast on Thursday morning, we left the Motor Inn for a sightseeing tour around Tallangatta, Albury and Lake Hume. Morning tea was enjoyed at Peard's Nursery, which included delightful jam and cream scones, before the bus dropped us back at Albury station for the trip back home.
