A trip down memory lane

Former librarian and author of ‘Two Turrets and a Dome’ visited the Sale Ladies Probus Club and talked about her book, which tells the history of Gippsland Base Hospital in Sale from the 1860s to the 1980s.

The ladies in the photo below had been employed in areas ranging from nursing to physiotherapy and administration. The base hospital was demolished in 1989 after 125 years and the new hospital is known as Central Gippsland Health Service.

Ann showed the members slides from the hospital and everyone enjoyed reminiscing over how things have changed in the last few decades.
