Brewery tour

Griffith Men’s Probus Club recently toured the new, state of the art brewery complex at Yenda, near Griffith, which is owned by Casella Wines.

This tour was arranged by Stuart McWilliam, our club tour officer, who, over the years, has organised many successful and most interesting tours for Griffith Men’s Probus.

The shining stainless steel plant is almost entirely operated by computer, is extremely high tech, using state of the art European technology and imported American specialised components.

As well as touring the brewery, members also had a grand tour of the massive winery.

The tour lasted about 2.5hrs and our guides expertly answered a large range of questions. Coincidently, on the same day of our inspection, it was announced to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) that Casella Wines were entering into a joint venture with Coca Cola Amatil (CCA), and that CCA had loaned Casella $46m to expand and build this new joint brewery venture to be known as The Australian Beer Company.
