Touring Stanthorpe
25 Aug 2021
Members of the Probus Club of Hope Island enjoyed a wonderful three-day trip across the Southern Downs and Granite Belt region.
They celebrated “Christmas in July” at Stanthorpe and it was very cold for this time of the year; but all enjoyed the Fun, Friendship and Fellowship together.
Members visited the “Snow Flakes” in Stanthorpe for a photo opportunity, and also the Abbey Boutique Hotel in Warwick for a tour of the abbey. They also enjoyed lunch together.
The day included a tour of the Summerland Camel Farm, which is very unique. Members learned a lot about camel farming from the farm’s very passionate managing director, and they sampled many of the camel milk, cheese, yoghurt and other products produced on-site.
Also included in the tour was wine and liquor tasting at Castle Glenn and the Ballandean Estate Wines. They also toured Kent Saddlery and Anna’s Candle Factory in the region.
