Broadbeach Ladies Probus celebrate their 40th Anniversary

The Broadbeach Ladies Probus Club recently celebrated their 40th Anniversary with cake and champagne.
The Inaugural Meeting of the Broadbeach Ladies Probus Club was held at 10 am, on the 27th of March, 1984, in the Barcelona Room of the Broadbeach International Hotel, Broadbeach.
When the club was formed, there were 52 members present. This was the first Ladies Probus Club in Queensland.
The Broadbeach Ladies now meet in the Kurrawa Surf Club, Broadbeach, and have 54 members. They meet at 9:30 am, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, with their outing day on the 4th Tuesday of the month.
The cutting the 40th Anniversary cake was done by their 2 longest serving members Gwen and Christa.
Since that first meeting, they have had enthusiastic members and committees who have focussed on helping to promote the Probus motto “fun, friendship and fellowship.”
