A visit to the Wellington Government House
16 Sep 2024
Members of the Wellington Eastern Suburbs Probus Club braved a cold, wet, southerly day in Wellington to visit Government House.
Built between 1908 and 1910, the grounds have many heritage features, and several trees planted by the Queen, the Prince of Wales, and the late Māori Queen.
Members had particular interest in the photographs and shields of all the Governor Generals, the array of gifts given over the years and the room for the meeting of dignitaries.
The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
