Rochester Bowls Day
08 Oct 2013
The annual Rochester Probus Bowls Day saw 160 members and friends having a roll, with every green full.
At the recent annual Rochester Probus Bowls Day, all the greens and rinks at the Rochester Bowls Club were filled to capacity. More than 160 Probus club members and friends from district clubs including Deniliquin, Clunes and Benalla, to mention but a few, joined members of Rochester Probus Club in a great day of bowls.
The winning team with a score of 56, taking home the perpetual trophy and medallions, was from Campaspe-Murray Probus Club led by John James, and the runner up with a score of 45 was from Bendigo East Probus Club. Both also won cash prizes.
Other prizes were won by bowling to the 'spider', bowling a ball that rests touching the jack, by a random draw from cards and by the losing team for encouragement, thanks to the Rochester Bowls Club.
Ladies from the Rochester Probus Club did a magnificent job catering for all the meals and are to be congratulated for their contribution to the success of the day.
