A Trip to the STARS

Bathurst Macquarie Ladies Probus Club recently enjoyed a magical day trip to Parkes. The day turned out to be a bit of a mystery tour doing a circuit from Bathurst to Orange, Manildra, Parkes, Forbes, Eugowra, Cudal, Orange and home, Bathurst.
The intrepid travellers visited The Parkes Telescope, ‘The Dish’ where they went to the moon and galaxies beyond through a 3D presentation in the theatre, had a great lunch at The Dish Cafe before heading to Parkes to visit Elvis, a star of a different kind and Henry Parkes ‘The Father of Federation’ at the Henry Parkes Museum which also houses an amazing vintage car display. On to Forbes for a cooks tour and visit to the statue of Ben Hall - Bushranger, shot dead and buried in Forbes then on the way from Eugowra to Cudal was ‘Escort Rock’ site of one of Ben Halls holdups.
The magical mystery tour was a very long but wonderful day out.
