Rochester's annual dinner
31 Mar 2014
Sixty members of Rochester Probus Club attended the club's 16th annual dinner at Rich River Golf Club late last year, also celebrating the Life Membership of two deserving members.

Members enjoyed the social occasion, the birthday cake, thanks to Judith White, and the jovial repertoire of MC Graham Hyden.
The highlight of the evening was the granting of Life Membership to Judith White and Glyn Francis.
Judith White is a foundation member of Rochester Probus Club and served as membership officer for a year. In 2007, Judith became Vice President, the following year President and, the year after, Immediate Past President.
Judith, with her husband Alf, looked after the Probus Annual Bowls Day, organising the club's teams and teams from other Probus clubs. Judith also arranged and organised the morning and afternoon teas and lunch. Since Alf's retirement Judith has continued organising the food, along with her willing band of helpers. Judith also arranges the club's biannual lunches.
Glyn Francis has been a member since 2001 and has been editor of the club's newsletter for more than six years, also organising the club's monthly Sunday lunches during this time.
Glyn was elected Vice President in 2008, became club President the following year and, in 2010, was the Immediate Past President. Glyn also assisted with the Annual Bowls Days, particularly after Alf retired, and continues to do so.
Glyn is the person who always offers to assist members when they need a hand.
This is a well-deserved honour for both Judith and Glyn.
