A blast from the past
24 Mar 2020
On Tuesday, February 25, some 30 members of the West Lakes Shore Probus Club visited the seaside and the Semaphore Carousel.
Built in 1928, it is Australia’s largest operating merry-go-round with 40 beautiful handcrafted wooden horses.
The Carousel is managed by the Rotary Club of Henley Beach to raise money for charity and is housed in a protective cover to protect it from the elements.
Members’ faces reflected thoughts of carnivals, amusement rides and side shows at the seaside and their smiles and laughter showed their delight as they took a “journey back in time”!
Music, rides, chatter and a barbecue lunch followed by more rides rounded off a fun day with Probus mates.
