The 2010s - a blast from the past

Whether it’s a dress-up party, an exciting road trip, a relaxing barbecue or celebrating their clubs’ anniversaries together, Probus members are living life to the fullest. Here is what they’ve been up to in the last decade.

 

Bacchus, Vic Bacchus Marsh Ladies Probus Club was established in 1990 with 44 members, eight of whom are still active members today. With their day trips and fascinating guest speakers, the ladies have certainly taken part in fun, friendship and fellowship over the years.

 

Hornsby, NSW Here are Jan, Helen and Wendy from the Hornsby Ladies Probus Club hanging out during Vivid Sydney two years ago.

 

Drummoyne, NSW Earlier this year, the Drummoyne Probus Club went on a great tour of State Parliament House. They had a personal meet-and-greet with several parliamentarians, then enjoyed morning tea and a really interesting question time.

 

Bright, Vic The Probus Club of Bright and the Alpine Probus Club of Bright love going on day trips together. Here they all are watching a stingray being fed in Port Stephens.

Broken Hill, NSW For Friendship Day in 2013, the Ladies Probus Club Broken Hill-City performed a skit called ‘Ladies of the night’.

Byford, WA The Probus Club of Byford had a wonderful trip to Shannon National Park in WA during a three-day trip in 2012.

Capri, Qld Last year, Madge Riley from the Ladies Probus Club of Capri received her Probus life membership at the club’s 300th meeting. Madge is an inaugural member of the club and has been a long-term president during her time at Probus. Next year is the club’s 30th anniversary. Congratulations, ladies.

Blackburn Central, Vic In 2011, the Blackburn Central Probus Club celebrated their 22nd birthday with a wonderful picnic. Ballarat, Vic Here are some members from the Probus Club of Ballarat New Generation relaxing during their fascinating trip to New Zealand in 2010. »

Hallett Cove, SA These members of the Hallett Cove Probus Club have line danced at many Probus functions over the years. This shot was taken in 2012.

Euroa, Vic Last year, one of the guest speakers at the Euroa Combined Probus Club brought along three alpacas for the presentation. Here is member Joy Elston getting up close and personal with Ruby, Iris and Hazel.

Kingscliff, NSW The Probus Club of Kingscliff first began in 1982 as a men’s-only club until 2008, when it became a combined club. Here they are celebrating their 30th anniversary.

Knoxfield, Vic Surrounded by the Melbourne skyline, the Knoxfield Ladies Probus Club enjoyed their tram boat ride on the Yarra River in Melbourne in 2012.

Minyip, Vic Betty Barry is 91 years young and an active member of the Combined Probus Club of Minyip. Here she is in front of a giant mural in the little township of Brim.

 

Nambour 90, Qld Here is the Nambour 90 Probus Club celebrating its 20th birthday in 2010.

Narre Warren, Vic For their 10th birthday, the Narre Warren Combined Probus Club indulged in a

fine dining experience at Clover Cottage.

Northam, WA Last year, the Northam Probus Club went on a fantastic tour to Mount Kokeby together.

Riverside, Tas Every year, the Ladies Probus Club of Riverside and the Devonport Ladies Probus Club catch up for lunch. Here they are stocking up on delicious snacks at the wonderful Ashgrove Cheese Farm.

Scottsdale, Tas Here are Doug and Shirley Wills from the Combined Probus Club of Scottsdale cutting a delicious cake during one of their club’s celebrations.

 

Stawell Gold Reef, Vic The Stawell Gold Reef Ladies Probus Club enjoyed a fantastic getaway to Kangaroo Island in South Australia last year. Here they all are under the Admiral’s Arch.

Strathdale, Vic The Probus Club of Strathdale in Bendigo was formed in 1992. Many foundation members are still in the club today. Here are some of them at a meeting last year.

Ulverstone, Tas This fabulous photo was taken in 2014, when these members from the Ulverstone Ladies Probus Club received their newly-framed old regalia. ••
