The Werribee Probus club celebrated 25 years by inducting two foundation members Roy Sturgess and Bill Bloomcamp as life Members.
They join Walter Eacott OAM, Wally Bock and Harry Kirkland.
Roy Sturgess (right), a former school teacher and competant sportsman, held every position available on committee including president, secretary, and treasurer, during his 25 years membership, and was bowls and trips co-ordinator as well as being on hand to assist in other tasks. Roy is always an active participant in the social activities of the club.
Roy was presented with his life membership certificate and pin by well known local businesman and councillor Peter Ross who chaired the inaugral meeting to form The Werribee Probus club. Peter was a representative of the Werribee Rotary Club the Probus club's sponsor.
Bill Bloomcamp (left), also a foundation member, and former ranked officer of the constabulary, held the position of president in 1990, 2006 and 2007. He undertook the positions of procurer of guest speakers, tours co-ordinator, caravan trips co-ordinator and organiser of the theatre goup with Vic Mayall. Like Roy, Bill is a very active participant in all social events.
Bill's certificate and pin were presented by the club's first inductee Walter Eacott (AOM).
