Glenhaven member applauded for service

At the Glenhaven Probus Club, Neville Smith has been elected life member for his generous contributions since the club's formation.
From just 30 original Probians, the club has expanded to 175 members enjoying fun, friendship and fellowship, much of it due to the influence of Neville. Club members applaud the election of Neville as a life member for his wonderful success story.
Smith initially served as the club’s Vice President when it restarted in 2008 after a decline in membership. He often stood in for the President, who frequently travelled.
In 2010 Neville served as President, and as Immediate Past President in 2011 he remained a constant and much appreciated advisor on the committee, serving both years as the Committee Chair.
During that time, he presided over vital changes made to Glenhaven’s constitution and ensured the club’s compliance with the requirements of the Department of Fair Trading NSW. He gave considerable assistance to the Risk Management Officer’s work at the time in establishing the club’s policy.
Maintaining his strong involvement in the club’s administration, Neville was the club’s Public Officer in 2012 and 2013. He is also a nationally accredited bowls coach, and he passes on his passion for the game by teaching club members who wish to join the bowling group. All Glenhaven bowlers know the rules and etiquette thanks to the generous amount of time and talent Neville has shared.
