An investigation will be launched into yesterday’s bushfires in Sydney which raged out of control as temperatures soared to more than 30 degrees Celsius. In other news, Australia has been ranked tenth on the world’s happiest countries list.

 

Investigations begin into Sydney bushfires

A formal investigation will delve into the cause of yesterday’s bushfires across Sydney and NSW. In an exceptionally early start to the bushfire season, yesterday saw temperatures soar above 30 degrees and winds peak at 90 kilometres per hour. A bushfire emergency was declared in the Hawkesbury, Marsden Park, Londonderry and Winmalee. The emergency warnings have since been downgraded to advice. Parole review signed for Corby

Schapelle Corby has allegedly received approval from her prison warden in Bali for a parole review. The convicted drug trafficker is serving a 20-year sentence. Her application for parole still awaits final approval by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights after Corby’s brother in law paid the $10,000 fine she acquired for secondary indiscretions in jail. World’s happiest countries

According to the 2013 World Happiness Report, northern Europe holds the key to happiness. Denmark is officially the world’s happiest country, scoring a 7.693 rating out of 10. It was followed by Norway, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Australia was ranked number 10 with a 7.350 rating. See the full list on News.com.au

A young man living alone in a Siberian forest has been found by Russian authorities. Locals near the town of Belokurikha found the man who had been living in the forest since 1997. Read the amazing story on Seven News.

Four men have been convicted of the rape and murder of a 23-year-old girl in New Delhi. Her young companion has recalled the attack that killed his friend, saying she wanted her attackers to die. Read more.

A dazed patient has woken up from surgery and immediately hit on the pretty girl by his bedside, only to find out he’s married to her.
