Cruising through life

Members from the Probus Club of Oxley enjoyed a lovely couple of hours on an authentic Chinese junk cruising the picturesque Hastings River.

The junk was full of character and featured comfortable undercover seating, as well as seating at the bow, where people could enjoy the balmy breeze.

It was a relaxing summer’s day as they cruised the canals, taking in the oysters farms and magnificent sea eagles. The skipper was very friendly and informative by pointing out the key points of interest along the water.  

A scrumptious lunch of fish and chips was collected on the way and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Nothing is more relaxing than eating a delightful meal whilst cruising the waterways of Port Macquarie.

The added bonus was the appearance of dolphins frolicking around the boat. Finally, watching the skipper “parking” the junk was the most incredible feat of manoeuvring ever seen.  

All up, it was a great day enjoyed by all.
