Happy 30th anniversary, Berwick
26 Jan 2016
In October 1985, a group of like-minded women set up the Berwick Ladies Probus Club and last year, members celebrated its 30th anniversary at a luncheon at Blue Hills Rise, Cranbourne.
To celebrate the pearl anniversary, the ladies adorned themselves in pearls and the tables were beautifully decorated with table centrepieces and even more pearls. As well as a two-course lunch, members enjoyed entertainment supplied by a ‘king’ and ‘queen’ covered in pearls (members Lorna Andrews and Gael Barden), numerous raffles, including hampers, and door prizes.
One of the founding members from 1985, Thelma Mulligan, also took part in the celebrations. President Chantell Fisher presented her with a potted azalea to commemorate the occasion. Since its inception, 27 ladies have served as President of the club some of whom are still active members today. With a growing membership (there are currently more than 70 members), the club is looking forward to many more anniversaries in the future.
