St Agnes High Tea on the River Torrens
On Sunday afternoon 15th September 2019 members of the Probus Club of St Agnes Inc attended a “HIGH TEA” on the River Torrens in central Adelaide, South Australia. The event was held on one the famous “Popeye” cruise boats which have been cruising on the river since the 1930’s.
A sumptuous menu of goodies was provided by the tour operator for the enjoyment of all who participated in the cruise.
The cruise enabled Club members to view the many changes which have taken place around the Riverbank precinct in recent years particularly the re-modelled Adelaide Oval, Festival Centre and Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Attention was also drawn to several historic landmarks around the river dating back to the foundation of the City of Adelaide in the 1830’s.
Members all agreed that the event was an enjoyable experience.
