Palmerston Probus joined the Top End in celebrating Probus’s golden anniversary with Territory style hospitality, practical inspiration and plenty of singing and dancing. Visiting from Victor Harbor, Probus South Pacific Board representative Jenni shared ideas with current and prospective committee members at Tracy Village. Her warm approach encouraged fresh thinking about activities, membership, and the friendships at the heart of Probus. A reception at Government House brought together members of all four Top End clubs, where Northern Territory Administrator David Connolly acknowledged their contribution to the community, with Jenni responding on members’ behalf.
Celebrations continued at Pearl Retirement Village for National Probus Day. Chief organiser Bonnie, supported by volunteers from the four clubs, helped create a memorable morning. The Hon. Marie-Clare Boothby welcomed guests, and an anniversary cake donated by the Hon. Jinson added sweetness. Colourfully dressed entertainer Bill led quizzes and a rousing rendition of his award-winning Probus Song. An impromptu farewell dance rounded off proceedings.
