Heading south

On a recent regular monthly outing, members and friends of the Probus Club of Stuart Alice Springs travelled 30 km south of Alice, along the Old South Road to Ooraminna for lunch.

Ooraminna is named after the old rock waterhole used by the camel trains and is the site of the abandoned film set for the film The Drover’s Boy.

The location now boasts a fully licenced replica old-style pub, as well as cabins and a camping area, in a tranquil valley setting.

Everyone enjoyed the lunch, organised by President Donna, on what was a typically Centralian sunny winter day.
