Probus Club of Toukley - New Caledonian Cruise
Friendship, Fellowship and Fun is the theme of Probus and the Probus Club of Toukley Inc. had huge quantities of all three on their cruise to New Caledonia recently.
Eleven members from the Club participated and had a great time, visiting the ports of Noumea, Lifou and Isles of Pines. These destinations were all very interesting but Treasurer and Events Officer Margaret's favourite was the Isles of Pines which is such a beautiful, restful and friendly place to visit.
Members travelled aboard the Royal Caribbean ship Radiance of the Seas and the accommodation was very comfortable, the food magnificent and the staff were very friendly and wonderful to everyone.
Margaret says "I really could not say a bad thing about the whole experience."
The Toukley group were really quite rowdy and seemed to attract all sorts of interest from the crew and passengers. Quite often they were asked “are you a Probus Group?” to which they said proudly “yes”. One young man even said that he had guessed as much as his father was in Probus also.
Members were efficiently and comfortably driven to Circular Quay and picked up on their return by a local Tour bus company named “Skippy Down Under Tours”. Hayden the driver who transported the Club was very prompt and very good company on their journeys to and from the ship. His wife who co-ordinated the whole thing went way beyond the normal efforts to accommodate the members.
Margaret says "We are planning another trip next year and we would welcome other Probus Clubs that would like to join us. Plenty of laughs and good times are guaranteed."
