Life members two and three
24 Jan 2013
The second and third life members of Henderson Ladies Probus Club were appointed at the club’s Annual General Meeting in March 2012. Joan Gaskell and Audrey Page are charter members of the club, which was the first ladies Probus club in West Auckland, beginning in April 1993.
Joan (pictured left) served as vice president, president and secretary. She has been re-elected secretary for a further term, a position she is more than happy to take on as she formerly had a successful secretarial career and has been secretary for several voluntary organisations.
Audrey (pictured right) has been vice president, president, outings coordinator and kitchen convenor. As a professional florist, tutor, examiner and judge, her enthusiasm and artistic talents have been at the fore in all her involvement with Probus. She has been re-elected kitchen convenor for a further term.
Joan and Audrey now join Henderson Ladies’ first life member, Deborah Morris. Deborah was the charter president when the club began in 1993 and has since been a dedicated and imaginative programs coordinator and newsletter editor. After 19 loyal years, Deborah retired from active committee participation at this year’s AGM.
These three life members have been confident and effective officers and each can attribute their abilities to their many years’ training with International Toastmistress Clubs (now POWERtalk International).
