35 great reasons to celebrate

The Probus Club of Port Stephens had 35 great reasons to celebrate.
On Wednesday May 9th a very enjoyable 35th Birthday Dinner Dance was held at Nelson Bay Golf Club where 92 members were treated to very fine food and danced the night away to the great music of 2 Left Feet.
The function room was decked out in Probus colours of blue and yellow and Life Member George Hammond conducted the proceedings with his usual ease. He also gave a brief history of the club which was men only until a few years ago and now boasts over 140 members with an equal gender ratio.
A power point of photos from ‘way back when’ to present day was rolled out and the longest serving member (over 30 years) at this point in time, Doug Pratt cut the celebration cake with Pam Pett who is the widow of the inaugural Secretary, Tony Pett. They have seen many changes over the years. A great night had by all.
