Funny float

The Ladies’ Probus Club of Loxton won the ‘most humorous float’ prize at the 65th Loxton Mardi Gras Parade.
Theme for the Mardi Gras was ‘celebrate’, so the Club titled its 4-part float “Celebration of Life”.
Members portrayed the female journey from Innocent baby, to rebellious teenager, to pregnant bride, to hard working mother, to caring and loving grandmother, to great-great grandmother.
Member participants were Gloria, Suzanne, Robyn, Therese, Janet and Norma (aged 92). Gloria was the chief organiser; Norma came up with the amazing ideas and signage; Nola provided the safe space for float decoration; and Bill drove the towing ute.
The Loxton Mardi Gras is an annual, family oriented event which raises money for the community. The Ladies’ Probus Club of Loxton has entered a float in almost every Mardi Gras since the Club began 36 years ago and has won the most humorous float prize all but a couple of times.
