At the recent Club meeting, Club Speaker – Bill Ashman spoke on the Club's March Caravan & Camping Trip to Clare.

On arrival members settled in and enjoyed Happy Hour followed by a shared dinner of finger food in the marquee.

The following day started with a huge shared pancake breakfast followed by a 45 minutes walk with Des.  Members then went into their allocated vehicles to the Clare Town Hall where Mayor Aughey gave a very interesting & humorous talk about the Clare Valley followed by fantastic morning tea.

During the trip members visited Sevenhills Winery followed by a tour of Martindale Hall and enjoyed a picnic lunch at Mintaro Maze and exploration of the maze.

On day four members travelled in convoy to Burra railway station which has been fully restored by the local population.  This now includes a B&B which can be rented. Fantastic morning tea, period costumes tried on & photos taken.  Next onto the grim Redruth gaol then viewing the ruins of a stone village.  A Morphett steam engine and powder gun magazine were also seen.  Picnic lunch in Burra by the river fending off ducks.  Underground brewery tunnels and miner's dugout also viewed.

On the last day members enjoyed an extravaganza breakfast prepared by the wonderful trip committee and it was time to say their farewells and return home.
