Keep it simple

Sometimes it pays to simplify life, as recently discovered by Gympie Probus Club on a visit to the Mary Valley.

It turns out that one does not have to book flights and travel in an aircraft for hours, battle with baggage and customs at crowded airports to see a beautiful part of the world. Within 20 minutes’ drive for most, it's possible to find peace and tranquility, fresh air and glorious views.

That is what Gympie Probus members experienced recently on their Meander up the Mary Valley. They visited the home properties of two families who are also club members.

The first stop at Coles Creek was at the Carlsons’ residence, where they had morning tea in a delightful setting and a chance to see Bruce and Coral’s collection of classic cars, which were basking in the sunshine. The cars were immaculate and of course evoked memories of 50-odd years ago. All the cars were in showroom condition and wonderful examples of their era.

They then meandered on to the Rozynskis’ property at Imbil. Gary and Linda had everything ready, and members were soon enjoying a sausage sizzle lunch with fruit platters and sweets as well.

The residence, perched on a hillside, gives outstanding views and everyone felt a little bit special while there. Gary and Linda have displays of wares from bygone times and the group spent a considerable time talking and reminiscing.

It was a great day out in the true Probus spirit of Fun, Friendship and Fellowship.
