The seat of power

On Friday, November 8, 27 members of the Probus Club of Tea Tree Gully visited Adelaide’s Parliament House on North Terrace. After the security search, they were greeted by the Honourable Doctor Richard Harvey MP, Member for Newland, and his assistant Kirsty.
Parliament House, Adelaide was built to replace the overcrowded “Old Parliament House” adjacent to the “new” Parliament House and is constructed from Kapunda marble and West Island granite.
It was opened by The Governor General of Australia and former Governor of South Australia Lord Gowie VC on June 5, 1939, 50 years after commencement. A dome that was to be part of the original design was never constructed.
