Kiesha’s mother pleads guilty

Kristi Anne Abrahams has pleaded guilty to the murder of her six-year-old daughter Kiesha Weippeart in a case that gripped the nation in August 2010. Abrahams is accused of killing her daughter, who died from a serious head injury more than two weeks before she was reported missing. Read more.

Stabbing in Surfers Paradise

Two men have been stabbed in Surfers Paradise and both are in hospital with life-threatening injuries. Three men were involved in the altercation at about 5:15pm last night. The men are believed to have known each other. Police have not revealed what sparked the fight or what weapons were involved. Nine News has more.

US President Barak Obama and Russia’s Vladimir Putin have disagreed over how to end the war in Syria as talks at the G8 summit in Northern Ireland continue. Both agreed the bloodshed must stop but Putin confirmed that Washington and Moscow have different views over the conflict. ABC News has more. 

Ferguson’s career hanging in the balance

NSW and Canberra star Blake Ferguson’s career is hanging in the balance following his suspension by the NRL. Police have charged Ferguson with indecent assault after an incident at a bar on Sunday night in Sydney’s south. Read more.

Socceroos World Cup qualifier

The Socceroos can qualify for the 2014 Football World Cup if they succeed against Iraq in tonight’s game. The Australian team have spent three weeks in camp and say they are ready to secure a World Cup finals berth. The Socceroos are looking to make it twice in a row for Sydney fans, following on from their incredible qualifier against Uruguay.
