Christmas wind-up
26 Jan 2021
On Thursday, December 17 almost 40 members and friends of Streaky Bay & Districts Probus Club enjoyed a delicious meal at the Streaky Bay Community Hotel as they came together to catch up and wish one another all the best and a safest Christmas Season.
The Entertainment Committee had been busy installing Santa, a couple of his reindeers and a large Toilet Paper Christmas Tree in line with the general feelings of the wider community about the type of year 2020 has been throughout the world.
Following the welcome from President Heather Carey the actual entertainment programme opened with a bright and enthusiastic rendition of the Toilet Paper Crisis song, in appropriate costume, followed by “Jingle Bell Rock” and a short, funny skit about a car mishap!
Pictured above are Sandy Quast, Shirley Petty and Zita Chester in costume for the Toilet Paper Crisis song.
Following the main course a further funny skit was performed by Shirley, Sandy and Zita, following their rendition of “Christmas Where the Gum Trees Glow” and a special COVID “Santa Won’t be coming to Town”.
Everyone then joined in with the singing of “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “Joy to the World” before a hearty rendition of “We Wish You a Ripper Christmas”.
After packing up there was still time for members to enjoy a leisurely coffee and spend a little more time together for probably the last time for 2020.
