Over two hundred members of Probus Clubs from all over north east Victoria came together at Wangaratta recently to celebrate fifty years of Probus in Australia.
Organised by Anne Diffey and Shirley Sullivan and a band of willing helpers, the day started with a banner parade of the fifteen clubs who attended the event.
After lunch, Heather Ewart, Probus fifty year ambassador, entertained the audience with stories of her television career, particularly tales of her adventures during production of the popular “Back Roads” program. Michael Ransom, Chair of Probus South Pacific Limited, who grew up in north east Victoria, spoke about the importance of Probus in local communities.
A very successful day indeed!
