Probus recognised across the country

All over Australia, Probus is being recognised for the valuable contribution it has made to the lives of retirees over its 50 years.

Probus members were welcomed warmly by each Governor, and we sincerely appreciate the recognition of Probus’ role in communities across Australia.

New South Wales

On 23 March, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, the Governor of New South Wales, hosted 120 Probus representatives at the Government House in Sydney, NSW.

On 9 April, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland, hosted a majority of Queensland’s 160 Probus clubs at the Government House in Paddington, QLD.

On 9 April, Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, the Governor of Victoria, hosted 150 Probus representatives at Government House in Melbourne, VIC.

On 14 April, the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania, hosted over one 100 Probus Club leaders from across Tasmania at Government House in Hobart.

On 14 May 2026, His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson APM, the Governor of Western Australia, acknowledged the 85 Probus Clubs in Western Australia in his speech at Government House in Perth, WA.
