Australia Day award nomination

At the recent Australia Day Awards ceremony held by the City of Tea Tree Gully on 26 January 2022, the Combined Probus Club of Golden Grove was recognised in the Council’s awards for service to the local community.

Five representatives from the Club attended the ceremony. It was through the Club’s successful Membership Recruitment Drive in 2021, which attracted 20 new members, that the Council supported the nomination. The ceremony was attended by the Premier, the Leader of the Opposition, a number of State and Federal Members of Parliament together with Council representatives and local community groups. The Club was joined by six other very worthwhile community groups and whilst it was not successful in the final choice of a winner, the nomination succeeded in spreading the word of Probus.
